1996 - Working

Working was first performed in 1978, and received five Tony nominations. The action takes place in the course of one working day, with one scene making a smooth transition into the next. Working is a musical, although not a traditional musical comedy. Most important,it is a documentary; it is genuine, realistic and sometimes brutally honest. It is a celebration of the ordinary jobs of ordinary people, the anonymous many, whose daily lives touch ours without our even realising it.

The monologues and certain lyrics are their thoughts and feelings in their own words.The music ranges from sentimental ballads to rock and country western. Working is a truly remarkable musical.
